From the time Mark was a kid living on the west side of Dayton to the present day, sports and exercise  have played a major role in his life.

, he has always participated in sports.  He has reminisced about how he and his friends would their summers playing from early morning, pausing only for a sandwich and a Coke' before resuming play until dark.


While his first, best, and present love is baseball, he has also run track, played basketball, golf, boxed, lifts weights and keeps a rigorous regimen of running at local venues.

As he described on a ______ edition of Ohio Baseball Weekly, his early memories of childhood include

He was a member of the original Wright State Raiders, which made its debut in 1970.  Out-scoring most opponents and team members alike, his photograph is still displayed at WSU's Nutter Center.  To-date, though Mark and that maiden team have been denied entry into the Raider's Hall of Fame, they were honored in 2016 as esteemed alumni.  

Highlights include seven Men's Senior Baseball League Championship Tournaments (five of which his talents helped take his teams to the win); being named MVP in ______; participating at Red's Dream Week in 1986; and most recently being honored by the WSU Alumni Association as a member of the first Raider's team.

Has won five Championship Rings in the Men's Senior Baseball League, 

Wright State first sponsored men's basketball in 1970 under the direction of Coach John Ross. First year varsity letter winners included: Mark Beilinski, Jerry Butcher, Mark Donahue, Jerry Hecht, John Hildebrand, Chuck Horton, Jim Schellhase, Doug Taylor, Jim Thacker. Mike Zink. Paul Brown, and Gary Webb. Jim Thacker was named the MVP and Chuck Horton, Mark Donahue and John Hildebrand took the foul shooting honors. In 1983, Wright State won the Division II NCAA Tournament. Wright State moved to Division I in 1987, and have made NCAA Tournament appearances in 1993 and 2007.
