“Do you know what my favorite part of the game is?
The opportunity to play.”
From the time Mark was a kid living on the west side of Dayton, Ohio to the present day, sports has had a major role in his life. He began playing baseball as a little leaguer and has never stopped.
Since the 1980's he has been on several Men's Senior Baseball League teams around the country, appeared in seven MSBL tournaments, and participated in the 1986 Red's Fantasy Camp ("Dream Week").
In high school and college, Mark excelled in basketball, becoming a member of the original Wright State team, even before they were the Raiders (1969/70). As a senior the following year, he became team captain, named MVP, and still holds the record for most Steals by any WSU team.
While baseball and basketball are #'s 1 and 1-A on his list, he has also run track, boxed, and continues to golf, lift weights, hits the batting cage three seasons of the year, and keeps a rigorous regimen of running 15 miles a week.
